Plants: Sunshine, Food, and Medicine for the Soul

A lush world of plants awaits shoppers attending this Thursday’s Girls Night Out event. Highlighting the beauty, wonder, and healing power of plants, this edition of our popular quarterly evening shopping event features themed offers from retail merchants, specials from guest vendors, summery drinks, and plant-forward raffle prizes. Those who bring a contribution for Howard County-based nonprofit Grassroots are entered into a second raffle, increasing their chances of winning while helping a worthy cause!

Drop off a feminine care products donation at the Grassroots stand to help make our Period Products Drive a success. Grassroots Crisis Intervention offers many services for families and individuals in Howard County. Your donation helps strengthen our community, and you’ll be entered into a raffle to win an orchid courtesy of Xanadu Botanicals & Design.

The fun continues at the new check-in counter in the New Weave building, where visitors pick up their free shopping bag, $5 Mill buck, and a glass of lavender lemonade or wine. After perusing the raffle prize display, shoppers set forth, bingo cards in hand, to explore the shops and have their card initialed to be entered into the evening’s raffle.

The center of the New Weave building is now home to Shop Local, a cohort of six entry-level entrepreneurs supported by the Maryland Women’s Business Center. Stop by to check out handmade jewelry, mosaics, bags and accessories, upcycled clothing and accessories, and soaps.

Across the hall, Charity’s Closet’s annual 3-4-5 sale is a perennial favorite. The doors open at 4 pm for this end-of-season event that offers three clothing items for $5. Sister business Charity’s First Picks will have 50% off their higher-end gently-used clothing options. Around the corner, an acupuncturist will be set up in the Rosebud Micro Venue. Stop in to learn about ear seeds, tiny acupuncture devices used to promote comfort and relaxation.

A new tenant in the Carding Building, the International Institute of Holistic Health opens their doors for an exclusive tour of their state-of-the-art facility. Stop by to check out their groundbreaking, innovative work and receive a small gift while supplies last.
